In-depth VR machine training

If the trainee can’t get to the shop floor, bring the shop floor to the trainee.

Atlas Copco

Teaching the ins and outs of a machine on a real shop floor poses multiple challenges. Location, costs, parts wear, time constraints… all of which can be solved in a virtual world, anywhere, anytime.

We built an intuitive VR training tool for use on the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift platform. As soon as you put on the VR goggles you find yourself in a compressor room. Using the handheld controllers you can effortlessly assemble the gearbox and mount it in the compressor. After you’ve put the machine canopy back in place, you can operate the air compressor through its 100% functional control panel.

The virtual world we created allows people to interact with a complex machine in ways that are not possible in the real world. Immersed in the digital learning environment, users are not exposed to common distractions and can experience the learning material from every angle. The result: a higher learning value than traditional forms of training can ever deliver.
