Power under the hood

Many manufacturers rely on the driving force of CAT power systems

Caterpillar

Caterpillar construction equipment is a major force at the Bauma exhibition, occupying almost a complete hall. But there is more Cat to be discovered: a separate booth showcases the products from IPSD - the industrial power systems division. It develops and builds complete power trains for many third-party OEMs.

Our assignment for the Bauma booth was to create an interactive touch screen app that showcases the diversity of applications of the Cat engines. We built a typical quarry job site in 3D, where a range of equipment is seen doing its day-to-day work. The animation serves as an interactive main menu that leads to other chapters.

These highlight not only the full range of engines, but also educate the visitors on the wide selection in power and fuel flexibility: HVO, biodiesel, battery systems and charging solutions, and the electric drive train series. This allows the customer to implement low carbon jobsite operations, reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions.

The broad offering of after-sales service is promoted as well, with services such as CVA, ESC, parts, dealer network and condition monitoring.

The interactive tool was designed to remain relevant long after the Bauma exhibition, with future deployments at the Cat offices, on other trade fairs, and as a supporting sales tool when meeting prospects.
