The Flemish association of engineers, ie-net, asked us to help them with a digital campaign to raise awareness of their organization among their target audience. In tune with the latest trends, ie-net wanted it to involve a smartphone app. The theme: holiday snapshots. The target audience: engineers and engineering students. The bait: a competition with engineering marvels for prizes.
We came up with a fun name for the app and designed and programmed it from the ground up. The app allows participants to upload a holiday snapshot accompanied by an original comment the size of a tweet. To garner votes, contestants can share their entry on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ directly from the app.
Furthermore, we built a campaign website where all snapshots are collected and visitors can vote on their favorite entry to support their friend’s chances of winning. And to kick-start attention for the competition, we designed a printed wrap for the executive portfolios that ie-net gave to engineering students at their graduation. The wrap of course pitches the app and the prizes to be won.
The Ingenieuze Kiekjes app was available in the App Store and in Google play.
