Conexpo in Las Vegas is the world's largest trade fair for construction equipment, and Caterpillar is one of the most prominent exhibitors.
For the third time in a row, CAT HQ asked us to create intuitive and attractive digital exhibits to explain and showcase their products and services.
An exhibit on sustainability relied on a touch wall with blended projection technology. A scanning infrared laser allowed for multi-user, multi-touch interactions, so that several visitors could use the system simultaneously, selecting their points-of-interest independently - or guided by a Caterpillar host.
The services division deployed two similar setups to showcase the whole range of offered CAT service programs, like machine health monitoring. Several other touch screens highlighted the VisionLink remote monitoring system, the online ordering platform and a performance comparison of the new generation machines.
An object recognition table explained the importance of genuine spare parts and remanufactured components. By putting one of the available 3D printed objects on the table, the visitor could navigate through the available information, just by turning and moving the object.
As result of the success of this exhibit, CAT dealerships requested to have the genuine parts object recognition table available at their locations.
Later in the year, the touch wall content was repurposed and localised for three other trade fairs in India, China and Japan.
