Experience the House of Industry

Tracing the UAE's industrial evolution from ancient craftsmanship to artificial intelligence.

Ministry of Industry & Advanced Technology

The UAE's industrial story isn't simply about infrastructure or output. It's a story of ideas transforming into tangibles, people seizing opportunities, and policies expressing vision - across thousands of years. With The House of Industry, we wanted to tell that story in a space visitors could walk through, touch, and feel.

Commissioned by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MOIAT) for Make it in the Emirates (MIITE), the experience unfolded across five distinct zones, each exploring a different chapter of the UAE's industrial journey.

Visitors entered through an introductory zone anchored by a curved LED wall playing an original film. Suspended mid-air above a ground-level interactive screen were four 3D-printed objects—each positioned at its actual geographic location: Saruq Al-Hadid, the pearl-diving coast, Al Ruwais, and the orbit of the Hope Probe. As the film played, each object illuminated in sequence, drawing a live connection between digital content, physical material, and the map of the nation beneath visitors' feet.

Zone 2 stepped back to the roots of early craftsmanship in metal, clay, wood, and glass. Dual artifact displays with integrated narrative text gave visitors physical and contextual grounding before they moved forward through time.

The centerpiece of Zone 3 was Ripples of Industry: a large interactive table surrounded by seven physical stations, each representing a different industrial sector. Visitors engaged directly—turning a valve, sliding a billet through a coil, pulling a lever to compress cement, or pumping water through a hydroponic system. Each action triggered expanded content across the shared table, visualizing how one industry cascades into the next: energy into petrochemicals, metals into manufacturing, and construction into infrastructure. The ripple effect, made tangible.

Zone 4 offered a moment to pause. A three-screen cinema with bench seating presented a film on the leaders who shaped the UAE's industrial direction — the decisions, the vision, and the continuity between generations.

Zone 5 looked forward. A suspended LED canopy transformed the ceiling into a moving digital surface. Two robotic arms, synchronized with 3D content on a rear LED screen, demonstrated next-generation manufacturing. A central holobox floated AI and data concepts in three dimensions. Curved screen arrays and a circular LED wall completed the zone, framing the UAE's industrial ambition on a global scale.

Behind the build

The House of Industry was one of the most technically layered projects we've delivered — combining synchronized AV, physical interaction mechanics, robotics integration, and spatial narrative design into a single coherent journey. The result was an experience that felt as ambitious as the story it was built to tell.
